Wouldn't it be great idea to have a coding contest once in a while?
This attracts a lot of people, new subscribers etc because of the short-term competition.

Well somehow that is what the PHP Programming Innovation Award promotes, a monthly contest among the authors of the most innovative packages submit every month.

Isn't that what mean?

No, I mean a small contest where everybody delivers the same target. Winner has smallest codebase or fastest code etc. etc.
I like the current contest, but it's totally different.

I see. Well it could be an interesting idea. The problem is that it may require additional time to manage those contests and that would slow down other developments.

Still I will keep that mind when I am able to hire more staff to manage things like that. Thanks for the suggestion.
